Preparing for TQE discussion

Reading: Today we will read for 10 minutes. Your next book review is on April 5th.

Agenda:

  1. Your vocabulary is due today. You also need to have a new book to read.
  2. Today we will prepare for a discussion tomorrow. We have read through Act III, but we haven't really thought about Shakespeare's message. What is he saying about love? Control? The three parts of the human person?
    1. Check out these lines in particular:
      1. 3.1.120-144
      2. 3.2.88-115
      3. 3.2.122-344
      4. 3.2.354-377
  3. This will take a lot of work and thought. But remember that Shakespeare is always worth thinking about.

Big Ideas: What are your assets?

Reading: Today we will read for 10 minutes. Your book review is today.

Agenda:
  1. Fill out the reading progress form.
  2. Today we will start the book review in class. You will have 10 minutes to begin. It is due on Sunday by 9PM.
  3. Assets are the positive things in a person's life that help the person do well.
  4. You will take a survey to see how of these assets are present in your life. You will not have to share this information with any other student in the class.
  5. Start a new English Journal
    1. Title: 40 Developmental Assets
    2. We will use the Notice and Wonder strategy.
