Agenda:
- Grade your Sweltering Words of Summer vocabulary
- Roundtable discussion: Individuals and groups
- Hand out textbooks. Put your names on the spine.
- Read Music for My Mother.
- The text of the nonfiction narrative.
- The audio of the nonfiction narrative.
- Look for Contrasts and Contradictions. Who shapes the main character?
- English Journal #3: Music for My Mother
- Write a one-sentence summary.
- Describe how individuals and groups shape the narrator of the nonfiction narrative. Make a list.
- 100 Words every middle schooler should know.
Success Criteria:
- I finished my vocabulary from last week.
- I am starting to understand how individuals and groups shape me.
- I understand what I should look for in a fictional narrative.
