Reading: Today we will read LOTF.

Agenda:

1. I will model how to understand the difficult parts of chapter 8. 
2. You will have the rest of the time to read and prepare for tomorrow's discussion.
3. Try to come up with some level 3 questions
1. Why does Golding think that humans can so quickly turn to violence?
2. According to Golding, why is it so difficult to identify what the beast really is?

Success Criteria:

1. I can read a difficult text more than once.
2. I can identify the important words, phrases, and scenes in a complex novel.
3. I can come to a discussion prepared with questions at various levels.
